What Held it All: The Making of 'Cosmos'
What Held It All
(1999) Length 00:50:00
What Held it All: The Making of 'Cosmos' is a unique documentary exploring the process of creating a cross- cultural music and dance production.
Performed in Toronto in June 1999, "Cosmos" is a collaboration between choreographer Lata Pada and composers Timothy Sullivan and N.Ravikiran from India.
Cosmos is anchored in the Rig Veda but develops to include the imagery of the solar system, planets and galaxies.
The choreographer and the two composers thus merge eastern philosophy with modern scientific knowledge.
Lalita Krishna followed the dynamic creative process over nine months - resulting in a documentary which won a Hot Docs nomination in 2000.
